NSPA General Manager visits NATO temporary shelters in Türkiye

Ms Cummings was accompanied by Mr Orhan Muratli, NSPA Director of Support to Operations and Mr Renato Lepore, SOC Commander.

The camp is quickly being built and will be ready to shelter 2.400 people within the first half of April. Once in place, this capability will complement the winterised tents already being provided by Allies and partners. More facilities are being requested by Türkiye to NATO.

NSPA General Manager visited the NSPA Southern Operational Centre (SOC) team deployed in Antakya and thanked them for their hard work in support of Türkiye. With her, Mr Orhan Muratli, NSPA Director of Support to Operations and Mr Renato Lepore, SOC Commander.

NSPA General Manager met with the Mr. Hulusi Akar, the Turkish Minister of Defence for an exchange on the country's present and future requirements.

In a combined visit, Mr. Rahmi Doğan governor of Hatay, an area badly effected by the earthquakes and NSPA General Manager thanked the soldiers from both Türkiye and NATO for their hard work assisting the people of Türkiye.

As construction progresses, the temporary shelters are being made habitable with services such as climate control, power and sanitation.
