Recruitment Process


Step 1: Your application

  • Select the vacancies of interest in the vacancy tab;
  • Click "Apply," fill out your personal application details and all specific vacancy related fields;
  • Be aware that you need time to complete the first application process however your personal details will be kept for your future application(s);
  • Ensure to have an electronic copy available of your diploma(s), your CV, a cover letter and any other documents;
  • After submission of your application, check your personal inbox (as well as your SPAM folder) for a confirmation email;
  • If it is your first time using our NSPA platform, follow the instructions in the confirmation email to create a password for your future logins and track your application.

Step 2: Screening & Pre-selection

  • All valid applications are screened by our experts based on the information provided in your application.
  • A pre-selection is made based on qualifications, training, competencies, technical skills and professional experience.
  • During this step, you may be contacted to pass a preliminary Skype interview.

Step 3: Interview process

  • If you are shortlisted you will be contacted by HR to inform you about the upcoming selection process.
  • Selection process consist in an oral interview + written test where technical and soft skills are assessed by a committee.
  • The questions will be relevant to the functions of the post you are applying for.
  • Both official NATO languages may be tested to check candidate's proficiency.

Step 4: Selection

If you are shortlisted you will be contacted
 by our HR department.

Step 5: Final steps

Security Clearance

The NSPA Security Office must receive a valid NATO security clearance before the candidate can be appointed. HR will manage the necessary security issues and it is carried out by the relevant national authorities at NSPA's request.

Medical file

Prior to the signature of the contract, a medical check-up, undertaken by the NSPA Medical Advisor is compulsory, as the medical condition could be decisive upon final employment. This requirement is applied on a case-by-case basis for consultants, depending on the nature of their work.

National endorsement

For grades A-5 and above (NATO grades 22 and above), candidates may obtain endorsement of their application from their national authorities. This is done through the members of the Agency Supervisory Board (ASB) or the respective Country Liaison Officer.
