Commander of NCIS Group visits NSPA

31 August 2016

Major General Walter HUHN, the Commander of the NATO Communication and Information Systems Group and SHAPE Deputy Chief of Staff CIS and Cyber Defence visited NSPA today along with Lieutenant Colonel Alexander PAULUS, Lieutenant Colonel Harold S. MONTOYA and Capt Thomas ELTER.

The delegation received several briefings including an overview of NSPA and briefings on NSPA capabilities, non-CIS support to NCISG and ACO.

“This visit was a great opportunity to engage with a key customer, which relies on the Agency to provide non-CIS capabilities to meet important NATO operational requirements. In particular, NSPA is working closely with NCIA to meet the SHAPE requirement for Dragonfly project, part of the NATO Response Force DCIS Capability Package CP149.” explained NSPA General Manager Chris ROSE.

The NATO CIS Group (NCISG), under the command of Major General HUHN, is ACO's largest subordinate command. Headquartered at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), the NCISG is comprised of approximately 1500 personnel located in approximately 13 different countries. The primary mission of the NCISG is to provide deployed IT support to NATO's military operations and exercises.
