International Women's Day

8 March marks International Women's Day and on this occasion, NSPA wishes to celebrate all Women at NSPA, NATO and around the world in all the roles they contribute to peace and security.

NATO's Women, Peace and Security (WPS) is a policy framework that recognizes that women must also be critical actors in all efforts to achieve sustainable international peace and security. It promotes a gendered perspective and women's equal and meaningful participation in peace processes, peacebuilding and security.

In 2018, NATO Heads of State and Government endorsed the revised WPS policy, introducing the principles of integration, inclusiveness and integrity. At the Madrid Summit in 2022, they further declared their robust Women, Peace and Security agenda, incorporating gender perspectives across NATO.

In June 2021, NSPA established Women, Peace and Security Focal Points at NSPA to work with NATO WPS Working Group and contribute to the NATO Action Plan for the Implementation of the NATO/EAPC Policy on Women, Peace and Security 2021-2025.

NSPA is committed to continue to embrace and contribute to the values conveyed by NATO as they relate to the Women Peace and Security agenda.

NSPA wishes to foster an inclusive and respectful workplace where all members of Staff are empowered and able to contribute to the overall mission and success of the Organisation.
