NSPA signs contract to support PATRIOT air and missile defence systems

LUXEMBOURG - On 16 May 2022, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) awarded an Outline Agreement to COMLOG for the provision of depot level maintenance support for PATRIOT surface-to-air guided missile systems deployed in Europe.

The contract will be running for the next five years and will enable maintenance support of PATRIOT missiles at two European facilities in Germany and The Netherlands. COMLOG is a joint venture between MBDA (Germany) and Raytheon Missiles & Defense (USA). The company operates the NSPA Support Partnership own PATRIOT Missile Facility, which is one of the only two PATRIOT missile maintenance facilities in the world.

For more than 30 years, NSPA in partnership with COMLOG has provided supply, technical, procurement, transportation and maintenance support to its growing user community of PATRIOT missile users in Europe, which currently includes Germany, Greece, the United States of America, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Romania and Sweden. The eight Nations are part of the NSPA PATRIOT Support Partnership, which allows them to organise common logistics, reducing costs and achieving economies of scales.

The PATRIOT (Phased-Array Tracking Radar to Intercept On Target) is an air and missile defence system currently in use world-wide including in several NATO countries. These ground-based defensive systems help strengthen the integrated shielding of NATO's borders and protect populations and territory from missile threats.
