NSPA participates in Defence Vehicles Dynamics exhibition

LUXEMBOURG - On 21-22 September 2022), NSPA representatives from the BOXER System Management Group participated in the Defence Vehicles Dynamic industry exhibition, hosted by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence.

The event provided the occasion to hold the semi-annual BOXER Support Partnership Committee, hosted by the United Kingdom. Delegates from the user nations participated in the meeting and took part in the different activities offered by the exhibition.

During the two-day event, numerous land combat vehicles were displayed and demonstrated their capabilities on a challenging off-road test track. Industry supplied four different potential BOXER variants ranging from self-propelled artillery to air-defence variants.

NSPA representatives briefed the participants on the programme, explaining the Agency's role within the new British BOXER concept, where industry, the British Army, the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and NSPA are working together to bring the vehicle into service.

The United Kingdom will benefit from the existing experience and support network that NSPA has put in place over several years, to provide a solid life cycle foundation for the BOXER Mechanised Infantry Vehicles. This structure will be in place by the time the first vehicles enter into service and will be gradually adapted and increased in conjunction with the delivery of different vehicle variants. Likewise, current partner nations will benefit by sharing resources and costs, and leveraging commonalities and economies of scale with their new member nations.

NSPA is the hub for Life Cycle Management and Integrated Logistics Support for BOXER armoured vehicles, relying on the expertise of the Boxer System Management Group (SMG), which comprises a dedicated team of over 20 NSPA experts. Overall, the Agency will support a modern fleet of more than 1200 Boxer armoured vehicles. The BOXER Support Partnership is open to new NATO nations acquiring BOXER, as it can complement their national systems by offering bespoke support services.
