NSPA General Manager meets NATO Chief Scientist

LUXEMBOURG - On 22 April 2021, NSPA General Manager, Mr Peter Dohmen, held a virtual meeting with Chief Scientist Dr. Bryan Wells, who leads the NATO Science and Technology Organisation.

This was the second encounter between the leadership of both organisations and served as a great opportunity to learn about each other's role and discuss potential areas of future cooperation such as cyber defence and innovation processes. Chief Scientist Dr. Bryan Wells briefed NSPA participants on the Science and Technology Organisation's (STO) main tasks and responsibilities, while NSPA gave an update on its capabilities.

The NATO STO is the world's largest collaborative research forum in the field of defence and security and ensures NATO maintains its military and technological edge to face current and future security challenges.

Innovation is one of the six areas of focus set in the NSPA Strategic Direction for the next five years. The Agency aims to use scientific and technological development and improve business processes. In addition, NSPA will collaborate with STO and other organisations to translate the emerging and disruptive technologies into innovative solutions for its customers.
