This Emergency Response Mission, requested by Hungary, is the sixth completed by the SAC since 25 March. In total, nearly 250 tons of medical supplies including masks, gloves, PPEs, and mobile Intensive Care units have been delivered to Romania, the Dutch Caribbean's, Bulgaria, and now Hungary.
Under the SAC programme, ten NATO Allies and two partner countries jointly own and operate three C-17 heavy cargo aircraft, sharing flying hours and costs. This multinational programme is supported by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, which manages the three Globemaster C-17 aircraft stationed at Pápa Airbase, including acquisition and sustainment.
