NSPA signs contract for a new support concept for AMRAAM AIM-120B missiles

A new multi-year Outline Agreement with Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) for the provision of support services for the AIM-120B AMRAAM (Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile) missiles is now available for the ten user nations of the NSPA AMRAAM Support Partnership (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye).

This contract is a new step in Life Cycle Management and is based on a "depot- in-box" all-inclusive concept, allowing the user nations with own in-house technical capabilities to replace failed missile sections/parts with serviceable ones taken from the "Global AIM-120 AMRAAM Sustainment Support Strategy (GAIMS3)" kits.

GAIMS3 will help mitigating the lack of spare parts, as well as missile component obsolescence issues; it will further improve repair turnaround times and provides access to a mobile maintenance team. Licensing support and transportation and demilitarization services are part of the support package.
