Belgian Ministry of Defence selects SOC as preferred provider for its new Storage and Maintenance Programme

The Southern Operational Centre, located in Taranto, Italy, has been selected by the Belgian Ministry of Defence as provider of preference to support their Storage and Maintenance Programme.

The Storage and Maintenance Programme is a new outsourcing initiative launched by the Belgian Ministry of Defence with the aim to find new options for its national deployable assets. The Ministry conducted a thorough analysis of suppliers and identified SOC as the best option for custodianship of the equipment, maintenance and management services.

The cooperation between NSPA and the Belgian MOD, through the SOC, started in 2019 with the transportation of the first 120 containers and subsequent equipment from Belgium to Taranto.

Then, on 20 February 2020, a Belgian delegation visited the SOC centre for a Custodian Acceptance and Program Kick Off meeting. The delegation took also the opportunity to visit and experience first-hand the CP156 infrastructure and other deployable equipment for situational awareness.

After the successful first delivery handled by NSPA Transportation team, Belgium could request a new delivery of more than 60 new containers. This is another successful example of cooperation between NSPA, SOC teams and individual nations.

The NSPA's Southern Operational Centre (SOC), the recognized center of expertise for deployable camps, is committed to provide the best deployable assets services under custodianship to its customers.
