Sweden participates in NSPO PATRIOT Support Partnership

The PATRIOT Support Partnership (SP) is growing. This month Sweden, joined the PATRIOT Support Partnership (SP) as an associate state. Our General Manager, Mr Peter Dohmen, countersigned the Cooperation Agreement with Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Following Poland, Sweden is the second nation to join the SP this year.

The PATRIOT SP now numbers seven nations. The partnership is expected to expand further with 2 more observer nations interested in participating. This important growth was highlighted during the PATRIOT SP Council of Colonels (CoC) held in Capellen, NSPA on 19 September 2019.

Representatives from all participating nations and the observer nations discussed the strategic vision of the SP and ways to improve its capabilities. During the CoC meeting, the General Manager congratulated the Polish representatives for joining the PATRIOT SP and presented to Mr Staffan Hasselberg, Head Director of Indirect Fire and Air Defence of the FMV, the countersigned Cooperation Agreement making official Sweden's participation in the PATRIOT SP.

The General Manager highlighted the importance of this meeting to develop future PATRIOT SP policy and thanked participants for their valuable direction and guidance.

The PATRIOT (SP) was founded in 1985 to provide common PATRIOT logistics support to the PATRIOT surface-to-air guided missile systems deployed in Europe. The participating nations recognized the value of multinational collaboration to achieve economies of scale, reduce national management burdens and avail of NSPA technical and procurement expertise.
