NSPA Conference on Logistics Support of Expeditionary Operations by Industry

On 19-20 November 2012, NSPA Procurement Division and the Logistics Operations & Plans Office held the annual NSPA Conference on Logistics Support of Expeditionary Operations by Industry at the NSPA Conference Centre.

This year’s conference – the fifth of its kind – attracted a total of 118 persons from 68 different companies and key NATO military commands. Industry was represented by senior officials, while military delegations came primarily from the NATO Command Structure.

Mr Steven BERNETT opened this two-day event on behalf of NSPA General Manager Mr Mike LYDEN. He welcomed participants and highlighted the growing importance of this conference. On the agenda were briefings by both external and internal NSPA speakers on the following subjects:

  • the reorganization of the "new" Agency (NSPA)
  • planning support to future operations
  • logistics support to OUP, ISAF, and KFOR
  • Alliance operations and Missions Resourcing
  • NSPA procurement, including the NSPA bid evaluation process

This two-day conference provided a forum for information exchange between industry, the military and NSPA about the involvement of contractor support in ongoing and future operations. Participants highly appreciate the existence and content of these conferences, which provide a unique opportunity to discuss contractor support to operations in a broad forum.
