NSPA 60th Anniversary : 60 years of impact

The NATO Support & Procurement Agency (NSPA) commemorated at end of June 2018, its 60th birthday of existence and 50 years of presence in Luxembourg through an Anniversary Ceremony at its site in Capellen, Luxembourg. Luxembourg as the host nation has demonstrated, a very close and supportive bond to the Agency and its staff. The attendance by high profile guests included TRH the Grand Duke Henri and the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa and public figures and dignitaries of Luxembourg, the President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies H.E. Mr Mars Di Bartolomeo, the Prime Minister H.E. Mr Xavier Bettel and members of his cabinet and the Mayor of Mamer Mr Gilles Roth. NATO participation at the highest level was visible through the presence of the NATO Secretary General H.E. Mr Jens Stoltenberg, the Deputy Secretary General, Mrs Rose Gottemoeller, the North Atlantic Council Ambassadors and the Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation (SACT) General Denis Mercier.
The ceremony hosted jointly by the NATO Support and Procurement Organisation (NSPO) Chair Mrs Jennifer Hubbard and the NSPA General Manager Mr. Peter Dohmen included a number of high-level speeches followed by the NSPA official sign unveiling event.
Prime Minister H.E. Mr Xavier Bettel emphasized the role of the Agency in providing valuable logistics support services for NATO and its Allies and the important task as the executing agent for NATO Trust Funds in partner countries where Luxembourg makes substantial financial contributions. The NATO Secretary General H.E. Mr Jens Stoltenberg, highlighted the backing of Luxembourg as a host nation and its active role in supporting the NSPA over the last five decades. The wide range of services provided by NSPA to its customers stretches from NATO Operations and Missions support to acquisitions of major new capabilities with global reach. NSPA underpins the NATO–EU collaboration by strengthening existing ties and by lifting this cooperation to unprecedented levels.
A long history of successful transformations along with adaptations to a changing political and security environment, has positioned NSPA as NATO’s premier logistics services provider and life cycle management Agency. This cooperative, collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship has flourished continuously and provides a confident outlook for the future of the Agency, its stakeholders and most importantly of its customers.
