Super Puma helicopters delivered to Spanish Air Force.

14 December 2017

Two AS-332 Super Puma helicopters procured by NSPA at the request of the Spanish Ministry of Defence were delivered to the Spanish Air Force in the facilities of Airbus Helicopters at Albacete (Spain) at the end of November 2017.

The first helicopter was commissioned last week after completing the ferry flight to the Spanish Air Force base on the Canary Islands. The second helicopter will remain at Albacete for a weeks to receive its custom paint scheme.

Both helicopters are configured to carry out Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and their equipment includes state of the art avionics featuring a full glass cockpit and specific mission equipment such as search lights, emergency flotation system and external fuel tanks.

NSPA has managed the procurement of these new helicopters in a very short time, exceeding the expectations of the Customer. The addition of these new helicopters into their inventory is a priority for the Spanish Air Force in order to achieve a full operational capacity.
