Supply chain to Afghanistan
03 August 2017
As part of the support to the Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan (CSTC-A), NSPA procured and provided different types of medical vaccines & syringes to conclude a multimillion USD project.
In the last delivery on 2 August 2017, there were a total of 686 boxes on 50 pallets, weighing 14,000 kg, which were successfully delivered to the ANA compound in Kabul. The digital data-loggers confirmed that no breach of the temperature controls had happened. The cold chain has been maintained!
The complex logistics task for these critical medical items could not have been put in place had it not been for the close cooperation between contractor, different involved NSPA programmes, the CSTC-A customers and the many transporters. This project has highlighted the scale of what can be achieved when there is the shared commitment by the contributors to the end goal, for the real benefit of a nation.
