NATO Trust Fund in Serbia – Latest addition to safety and security

The two-year NATO Trust Fund project opened in October 2016 with the aim of destroying up to 2,000 tonnes of surplus MoD ammunition at a government-owned ammunition facility, TRZ Kragujevac. This project includes a measures to update and improve the capability of the facility.
At a short ceremony in mid-May, the NSPA Project Manager, Mr. David Towndrow, handed over the keys to a new, emergency fire vehicle, valued at €155,000, to the TRZ Kragujevac General Manager, Lieutenant Colonel Dušan Kovarbašić. This vehicle augments equipment delivered in 2016 including a forklift truck and a modern emergency ambulance. NSPA will continue to support the Serbian MoD and TRZ Kragujevac to increase its technical capacity over the coming months.
