NSPA engaged in infrastructure support to Italy for NATO’s AGS Capability

23 March 2017

Following months of close coordination between the Italian Ministry of Defense and NSPA, the NATO Investment Committee has formally approved NSPA as a partner in the delivery of the permanent Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) facilities to be located in at the Main Operating Base in Sicily.

With Italy as Host Nation, NSPA will oversee and procure the services of design engineers and construction contractors to deliver facilities which range from aircraft hangars to office buildings. The project is forecasted to run until December 2020 with the first significant milestone - construction contract award - expected in March 2018. Italy will continue to lead the stakeholder community in refining requirements and reviewing and approving the proposals from NSPA related to this important capability.
