04 July 2016
During the NATO Support and Procurement Organization Agency Supervisory Board meeting held last week in Capellen, in addition to the Agenda covering NSPO ASB governance issues, the outgoing General Manager Mike Lyden received the NATO Meritorious Service Medal in recognition for his vision and strong leadership of the Agency since 2012.
Mr. EJ Herold, Deputy Assistant Secretary General Defence Investment, read the citation which included the following: "Through tireless communication with NATO Headquarters, nations’ representatives, the NATO commands and visits to operational theatres, Mr Lyden championed NSPA as a cost-effective service provider and enthused all with his vision of a more effective and efficient Agency. Mr Lyden has guided the Agency to an increase of 40% in operational turnover and, at the same time, has ensured the achievement of the NATO North Atlantic Council-directed 20% overhead savings goal.”
