NSPA SOC Support to Exercise Trident Juncture 2015 in Portugal

The Southern Operational Centre (SOC) has wrapped up its support to ‘Exercise Trident Juncture 2015’ during which with CP156 assets were deployed to Beja in Portugal.
The Exercise in Beja was conducted between the 26 September and 16 October and took place on the military base of the 1st Infantry Battalion in Beja, Portugal. The camp was located on the main parade square in the center of the base.
The SOC deployable team of seven specialist technicians provided training to the Host Nation (HN) workforce of 20 personnel during the setup, operation and tear-down/recovery phases of the task. Together the team deployed one CP156 200-man camp which provided working facilities for the exercise comprised of more than 100 fully equipped office spaces, in addition to briefing and conference rooms provided, truly a comfortable working environment for the Exercise training audience.
There was also the normal technical support element with power generation and distribution, fuel storage, Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) and force protection with fencing and containerized access control points.
The construction started on the 31 August and the last container of materiel was loaded and the site cleared on 30 October. Close cooperation between the Joint Force Command Brunssum team the SOC technicians and the HN ensured a highly successful exercise.
