SOC supports multinational command in run-up to Exercise Trident Juncture 2015
23 July 2015
In the run-up to NATO Exercise Trident Juncture 2015 – NATO’s largest exercise since 2002 - NSPA’s southern Operational Centre staff provided training support for the soldiers of the Support Group of the Multinational Command Ulm to teach them how to set up NATO’s deployable headquarters.
The training support took place over one week to familiarize the soldiers with the scope of work required to set up all of the equipment associated with the headquarters deployable camp.
“Trident Juncture 2015 is the biggest NATO exercise in years, and offers us a great challenge to test our new, state of the art, equipment and to exercise for the first time SOC’s new structure - deploying two independent Deployment Teams to lead the setup of the main headquarters in two different locations at the same time.
SOC is in process of deploying more than 400 containers full of material, 56 vehicles and material handling equipment and up to 20 technicians and logisticians to assure a successful deployment of the JTF and JLSG Headquarters to Zaragoza/Spain and Beja/Portugal.” Explained SOC Commander Mr. Renato Lepore.
