Airlift advisory bodies meet in Slovenia

01 April 2015

The advisory bodies of the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) Steering Board and the NATO Airlift Management (NAM) Programme Board (PB) met in Slovenia at the Brdo Congress Centre to receive updates on the activities of the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) and the NAM Programme.

During these meetings held between 24-26 March various governance issues were covered and agreed upon with the representatives from the twelve SAC participating nations and the management of the Agency and the HAW. Discussion items included operations and training of HAW personnel, HR and financial matters, as well as logistics and infrastructure activities.

The advisory bodies, chaired by Colonel James Herron (USA) and Mr Serban Lungu (ROU), met separately and in joint session over the course of the three days.  For Colonel Herron this was his first as Chairperson of the SAC Advisory Committee. In closing the meetings, both Chairmen thanked Slovenia for the excellent work in hosting the event, and remarked upon the constructive nature of the dialogue and valuable participation of all involved.
