General Manager meets key leaders during visit to Bulgaria

NSPA General Manager Mr. Mike Lyden visited Sofia, Bulgaria recently to participate in an Industrial Forum organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economy and Energy.

The forum, held on 10 October was opened by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and introduced a new program in Bulgaria, developed  within the MOD - “Bulgaria in NATO and in European Defence 2020” - whose key objectives for Bulgaria are to become even more tightly connected with NATO Allies and to speed the modernization of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, with the extensive use of the NATO and EU Agencies.

The forum gave the GM an opportunity to highlight Agency capabilities through a presentation and during the follow-on bilateral meetings with the Minister of Defence and Permanent Under Secretary of Defence.

These discussions also focused on planned modernization projects. Among other guests were Mr Heinrich Brauss, NATO’s Assistant Secretary General Defence Policy and Planning, Mr, Koen Gijsbers, General Manager NCIA and Mr Mr Rini Goos, Deputy Chief Executive European Defence Agency.
