Mission accomplished at Findel with new Turkish A-400M
02 October 2014
NSPA’s Transportation and Warehouse Division recently supported the first Turkish A-400M mission at Findel Airport, in Luxembourg. Turkey is the second NATO Nation to be delivered of and to operate the new multinational consortium developed aircraft. The recent logistics support flight from Findel airport was coordinated by NSPA staff. This support included the cargo delivery and loading of Turkey’s new strategic lift aircraft for a return flight to Turkey.
The innovative design of the new aircraft greatly facilitates loading operations and drastically reduces the time and materials required for routine loading operations. The aircraft is also more compatible with standard commercial loading equipment in use at Findel airport. Therefore, NSPA’s Transportation and Warehouse Division’s support for future Turkish Transportation missions will be accomplished more efficiently and effectively.
Loading operations were supervised by LS Transportation Branch staff and took just one hour – now that is mission accomplished!
