Important exercise to declare deployable camps ready for operations
02 April 2014
NSPA’s General & Cooperative Services Programme (LB) and Southern Operational Centre (SOC) personnel are conducting a Commissioning and Acceptance Exercise combined with training in Taranto, Italy from 24 March to 15 April 2014.
The exercise is a final assessment for serviceability, and opportunity to validate the supporting technical documentation and to provide hands-on experience to NSPA personnel in handling, erecting and disassembling the main components of the camp prior to declaring them ready for deployment in support of operations. The exercise involves close cooperation with the contractors supplying the equipment. It will also provide senior user representatives the opportunity to attend and view the activities.
NSPA is the Host Nation and implementer for the acquisition and follow-on support of deployable Large Headquarters Camps in support of NATO’s future operational deployments. This includes the requirement for four, 500-man tented camps and associated equipment, known as Capability Package 5A0156 (CP 156).
