NSPA’s efficient support services ensure uninterrupted airfield operations

13 January 2014

The NSPA APOD Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) contract at the Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan provides essential services in support of the ISAF mission.

This includes 24/7 airfield Snow and Ice Clearance (SNIC) and aircraft De-icing services throughout the winter in support of the ISAF air operations missions.  Seen here, a C17 Globemaster III of the 62 Airlift Wing, based in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, USA is de-iced and the apron cleared of snow.  Airfield services are part of an NSPA-managed contracted logistics solution at the NATO APOD in Kabul, Afghanistan. During the SNIC season, temperatures often fall below -15C and snow falls of 20 cm are not uncommon.
