Users' conference attracts high-level attendees
14 October 2013
NSPA chaired the 2nd Eastern Vehicles And Equipment (EVE) Users’ Conference on 24-25 September 2013, in Kiev, Ukraine.
This Conference provided NSPA and six NATO and Partner Nations with an opportunity to further explore requirements and capabilities that could ensure the most cost effective logistics support of former Warsaw Pact systems. The joint EVE initiative by the Rockets, Missiles, UAS, GPS, Combat Vehicles Programme and General Services Programme has captured high-level governmental interest, with 79 delegates attending the conference from various MoDs and state-owned entities.
The second day of the conference was open to industry and the delegates visited the Ukroboronservice Facility as well as the Kiev Armored Vehicle Factory. "Attendance and shown interest to the EVE Users Conference, exemplifies the high degree of existing national requirements and available industrial capabilities for Eastern Vehicles & Equipment" stated Mr. Bulent Tudes, General Services Programme Manager. Mr. Giorgio Scappaticci, the Rockets, Missiles, UAS, GPS, Combat Vehicles Programme Manager, added that "A dedicated NSPA EVE Support Partnership will be the optimal platform to match those needs with capabilities to provide multinational logistics support."
The third EVE Users’ Conference is planned for 19-20 February 2014, where decisions will be taken regarding the establishment of an EVE Support Partnership.
