The recent Portuguese Industry Day at NSPA was a great success with a large number of industry representatives and VIPs attending.
This was the first time that such an event was organized in the Agency for the Portuguese Industry and the first time that the Agency hosted so many participants from one Nation in one Industry Day - more than 33 Portuguese companies (approximately 50 participants) attended on Thursday 13 June. The industry participants are all part of the Defense Technological & Industrial Base (DTIB) with recognized capabilities and potential to provide goods and services to the NSPA.
The importance and significance of this event for the PRT Industry was illustrated by the participation of the following distinguished visitors: Mr. José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, the PRT Minister of Defense, H.E. Mrs. Rita Ferro the Ambassador of Portugal in Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Mira Gomes, the Ambassador of Portugal to NATO, General Manuel Chambel, the PRT Director of Armaments, Colonel Fernando Albuquerque, the PRT Agency Supervisory Board (ASB) member, Dr. Francisco da Silva, the President of the Luso-Luxemburgish Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCILL) and Dr. Goncalo Homem de Melo, the high representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Portuguese Agency for Investment & Trade (AICEP).
The overall objective of the event was to increase the interaction between NSPA and the Portuguese industry and according to the PRT Ministry of Defense, the event was an excellent opportunity to promote networking and to increase both dialogue and cooperation with the NSPA leadership, Program Managers and team members.
This initiative followed an invitation by the NSPA and had the support of the PRT Ministry of Defense, the PRT Ministry of Foreign Affairs (PRT Embassy in Luxembourg, PRT Ambassador to NATO, and the AICEP) and the abovementioned CCILL.
