Electronic Data Interface for German Army
19 June 2013
NSPA supports the German Army in implementing an Electronic Data Interface for their BV206 and BV206S vehicle.
Since 2005, Germany has received the technical packages from industry in accordance with S1000D, "International specification for technical publications using a common source database".
As part of an Industrial Efficiency Technology Database (IETD) project under the NLSE Vehicle User group, tablet PCs have been established for the paperless use of the technical publications.
The project has 3 phases to make maximum use of electronic data available.
1st: to make all the electronic documentation available for the students on the driver training courses (system description, crew manuals, preventive maintenance, operational procedures, etc.);
2nd: to make all the electronic documentation available for the students on the maintenance courses (procedures and spares catalogue for the maintenance school);
3rd: to make available the entire converted IETD on board the vehicles.
