Commissioning and Acceptance testing Role 1 Medical Facility CP156

On 18th February, staff from the Southern Operational Centre (SOC) supported the Capability Package Acquisition & Follow-on Support Branch, during the Commissioning and Acceptance test of a Role 1 Medical Facility.
The Facility, which was erected at SOC, Taranto, was visited by distinguished guests from the medical profession on 21st February. They were impressed by the high quality of the facility and its functionality.
The Role 1 Medical Facility consists of twenty seven interconnected containers and provides a full range of medical care requirements consistent with Role 1 medical standards. The facility includes rooms for doctors along with a specialized room for dental surgery, a pharmacy and a sterilization room. It also incorporates an X-ray room, a laboratory, a controlled-air-temperature storage room and an all-important emergency room. It also has a small in-patient ward, which can accommodate up to six beds.
This medical facility will be part of a Large Headquarters Camp within NATO Deployable Headquarters Assets (Capability Package (CP) 5A0156).
