CEPS meets with Fernleitungs-Betriebsgesellschaft

The CEPS Programme Manager, Jan Fledderus, was in Kehl (Germany) on Tuesday 30 October to hold a bilateral working meeting with Mr Horst Saal, the General Manager of the German National Organization, Fernleitungs-Betriebsgesellschaft (FBG). Mr. Fledderus was accompanied by Nancy Bonche, Projects Officer from the Technical Department, CEPS Programme.
The two managers discussed strategic issues of common interest, particularly the personnel establishment of FBG, the implementation of the Neutralization Phase for 2013, infrastructure projects, cost savings and Pipeline Management Systems (PMS).
Mr. Fledderus briefed the German delegation on the NSPA Roadmap. Attendees from FBG included Mr. Saal, Bernard Anslinger, Head of the Technical Department, Matthias Damm, Chief of the Business Department, Joachim Elfner, Chief of Operational Service at Idar-Oberstein and Alexander Kraft, Kehl Site Manager.
In the afternoon, they visited the Kehl Rail-Loading Station (RLS) where they observed the loading and departure of a train comprised of 20 wagons transporting 1600 m3 of jet fuel to be delivered to Zurich International Airport. Three such deliveries depart from Kehl each day to either Zurich, Geneva, Aigle or Munich. In 2011, 715 trains comprised of 14,500 wagons transported 1,150,000 m3 of Jet A-1 fuel.
The previous bilateral meeting between the CEPS Programme and FBG took place in September 2012 at the occasion of the CEPS National Managers Meeting held at the CEPS Programme Office in Versailles, France.
