Transportation and Warehousing Services


NSPA provides transportation and warehousing support to NATO bodies, NATO nations and partner nations and to the NSPA internal programmes.

Transportation

NSPA provides customer specific transportation solutions for passengers and material of any kind, including oversized loads, classified equipment, crypto and dangerous goods, ammunition and weapons, parcels. It ensures a worldwide coverage across the entire spectrum of transportation modes and routes, including air, sea and land (both road and rail) through a comprehensive range of global commercial transportation contracts.

Air Transport

By providing access to strategic airlift capabilities (outsized cargo) through the Strategic Airlift International Solution (SALIS) and ad hoc contractual solutions when required.

Sea transportation

By providing reserved Roll-On-Roll-Off ship capacity available at short notice through an assured access contract managed by the NSPA on behalf of the Multinational Sealift Steering Committee (MSSC) or other commercial options if needed.

Land transportation

By offering rail service across Europe, as well as road transport capabilities.

NSPA ensures the management of a 24/7 service providing door-to-door service, including customs, import and export licenses administrative coverage. Further, internet-based tracking and tracing is available to allow customers not only to follow their assets but also to have visibility on the financial flow from invoicing to billing.

The Agency works in close cooperation with NATO and international organizations specialized in strategic transport such as the Allied Movement Coordination Centre (AMCC), the Movement Coordination Centre Europe (MCCE), the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) and the European Air Transport Command (EATC).

Warehousing

Moreover, NSPA provides an in-house warehousing area that manages the storage facilities handle the transit shipments and consolidation of cargo. It comprises reception, inspection, preservation, storage, packaging, and preparation for shipment and disposal of materiel.
