Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS)

NSPA provides efficient and effective Lifecycle Management and In Service Logistics Support to NATO and National Airborne Surveillance Systems, while responding to their operational needs.

NATO E-3A Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) fleet provide the Alliance with air surveillance, command and control, battle space management and communications. NSPA supports the NATO AWACS fleet with aircraft and component depot level maintenance.

The Agency has a dedicated staff located at NATO Air Base (NAB) Geilenkirchen, (Germany), the home to 14 AWACS aircraft. The team supports the NATO E-3A Component operations through local procurement services, training, software and airfield services. In concrete, NSPA manages supply activities and multi-year support contracts established for the NATO E-3A Component operations.

Additionally, the Agency provides comprehensive Depot Level Maintenance contracts for the NATO E-3A Sentry aircraft in support of the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force (NAEW&CF).)

The activities offered by NSPA focus on three service pillars: Procurement and Supply, Aircraft and Mission System Maintenance, and the United States Air Force Foreign Military Sales Agreements.

Looking into the future, NSPA, in close cooperation with the NATO AEW&C Programme Management Agency (NAPMA) and the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force (NAEW&C) Force, are coordinating the development of a comprehensive E-3A final life cycle management plan as part of the transition to an Allied Future Surveillance Control capability.
