Competition Advocacy

The NSPA Competition Advocate is responsible for promoting competition and for attempting to balance the orders placed by NSPA in the various NSPO member countries against the orders placed by these countries with NSPA

In this connection, the NSPA Competition Advocate is the focal point for liaison with industry and in particular as regards:

  • facilitating relations between suppliers and NSPA and fostering the exchange of information, and assisting solving problems concerning participation in procurements made by NSPA (e.g. in the context of the registration in the NSPA Source File, inclusion in Source Lists for RFPs, awards of contracts and execution of contracts);
  • providing an informal avenue for appeals and settlement of disputes, avoiding confrontation with a view to resolving the problems without litigation;
  • receiving criticisms and suggestions concerning the correct application of regulations and procedures applied by NSPA in dealings with industry for consideration and analysis with a view to ensuring maximum transparency of operations whenever possible.

Warning to Suppliers

Occasionally, some unscrupulous organizations/individuals address NSPA’s suppliers, invoking the Agency’s name, and solicit monetary contributions, to be paid to them (e.g. requesting payment for advertising to be made in a so-called "NSPA-sponsored" brochure).

Please be aware that NSPA does not approach customers or suppliers with sponsoring or advertising requests.

Should any supplier be approached by any individual, company or organization requesting money, sponsorship, or other favours on behalf of NSPA, they should immediately report the fact to NSPA’s
