Two new logistics directorates open for business
12 January 2018
A celebratory kick-off event was held this week in Capellen, Luxembourg to mark the launch of the two new logistics directorates at the NATO Support and Procurement Agency. Effective 1 January two separate directorates were established, one for Life Cycle Management led by Mr. Rudi Maus, and a second one, Support to Operations, led by Mr. Orhan Muratli. Agency General Manager Mr. Peter Dohmen ceremonially introduced and then congratulated the two new Directors and explained some of the major factors highlighting this important expansion of the Agency’s organizational structure.
The establishment of these two separate business directorates is a reflection of the continued growth of the Agency and ensures the Agency is effectively organized to meet future challenges. "With this new structure, including the further development of our acquisition role, the Agency will be in a position to more effectively support our broad range of customers and stakeholders. It will also enable us to enlarge our role in support of NATO’s Deterrence and Defence policy and further professionalize our execution of NATO Trust Funds," highlighted Mr. Dohmen.
"The new structure will allow us to intensify engagement with NATO and the Nations to the benefit of our customer and stakeholders across the full scope of Life Cycle Management" highlighted Mr. Maus.
Mr Muratli emphasized the vision for the new directorate was to create a "Directorate capable of providing effective, responsive and timely support to NATO, Allies and partner nations on operations and exercises both on NATO territory and out of area."
