GM visits NSPA ops in Afghanistan

General Manager Mr. Peter Dohmen, along with Mr. Orhan Muratli, Deputy Director of Logistics, and Mr. Jim Shields, Operational Logistics Planning and Support Programme Manager visited NSPA operations in Afghanistan recently. “Support to operations is one of my top priorities. It is very important for me to get out into the field to meet our team personally so I can see first-hand our successes and know where we need to put a little more emphasis or focus.” explained the General Manager.  The visit was designed to allow the NSPA executive team to engage senior customers and stakeholders, to receive updates on NSPA activity, to get feedback on current NSPA operations and to discuss future focus of theatre operations.

Meetings were organized with the Combined Strategic Transition Command - Afghanistan command team Major General Robin Fontes and Major General Leon Thurgood where a key topic of discussion was NSPA’s support to NATO Trust Funds as Executing Agent.

The delegation also met with Brigadier General Terry Williams from Resolute Support HQ and Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Johann Langenegger. The GM also engaged Brigadier General Murat Selçuk ÇOL, the Commander of Hamid Karzai International Airport, to review the full spectrum of services being delivered by NSPA, and to review the NSPA/Framework Nation working relationship.

“I was also very pleased to learn the infrastructure quality under the NSPA contracts being executed here were recently lauded by the Commander of the Resolute Support meeting to the NATO Secretary General Mr. Jens Stoltenberg as having saved lives in the recent mortar attack on the camp in late September. This underscores the important work

Following a working breakfast with senior Agency staff, the delegation was updated on ongoing contracts from across the theatre of operations in Mazar-e-Sharif, Herat and Kandahar. This visit concluded with an all-hands meeting during which the General Manager presented Resolute Support medals to the NSPA staff.
