Hugely successful Portuguese Industry Day held at NSPA

A hugely successful Portuguese Industry Day was held this week at NSPA.  “More than 129 Portuguese industry representatives participated in the event which included a large exhibit highlighting the tremendous capabilities of Portuguese industry.” highlighted Mr. Fesquet, NSPA’s Director of Procurement. The event also included informational presentations from both industry and NSPA and many business-to-business meetings.

High-level attendees included, Mr José Alberto Azeredo Lopes, Portuguese Minister of Defence, H.E Mr Luís de Almeida Sampaio, Portuguese Ambassador to NATO, Dr Nuno Pinheiro Torres, National Defence Policy Director-General, Dr Alberto Coelho, Portuguese Director-General for the National Defence Resources, Major General Henrique Macedo, Portuguese Deputy Director for the National Defence Resources, and Colonel Fernando Albuquerque, the Portuguese representative to the Agency Supervisory Board.

“Industry days are a great way for NSPA and national industries representatives to know each other better. It allows the identification of new capabilities, to include from Small and Medium Size Companies, to facilitate business and to achieve a higher transparency of the market on which NSPA operates. This is truly a mutually beneficial endeavour prone to enhance Portugal’s industry ability to increase its activities with NSPA either as prime or subcontractor: the capacities are real, relevant and present.“ concluded Mr. Fesquet.
